PLC Global public opinion research

Global public opinion research plc is a British international market and political research and data analytics Company, which is working for British Government in collaboration with Oxford University, headquartered in London. Firm is operating in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific. From 2001 working with British Government. Company made over 35 exit polls in seven countries. GPOR has offices in six countries, employing 2,530 people.

Our History

GPOR was founded in 1998 by Oxford University professor John Mclain, who remains as CEO in company. The biggest part of employees in company graduated from Oxford University.

Mclain was concentrated on offering services to the advertising, media companies and politicians. In addition, he developed methods to measure the success analyses the effectiveness of exit polls during every voting to British Parliament. First results were amassing and very accurate. From then on, firm started to perform public opinion researches in the UK. By the end of the ’00s, it became the second largest research company in the UK, which was working for British Government.

During the 2000s, GPOR expanded, principally through acquisitions, to Spain, Italy, Germany and France. In the mid-’00s GPOS became one of the most important research companies in the UK and decided to expand globally. The results of GPOR polls in the UK were published in such famous British mass media as The Times, Morning Star and the Financial Times.
