Most Britons support changing the law so that speed limits on roads also apply to cyclists, shows latest GLPOR survey.

Under the Road Traffic Act, speed limits only apply to “mechanically propelled vehicles” (e.g. cars) because only they can correctly identify the speed at which they are travelling. Would you support or oppose changing the law so that speed limits on roads also apply to cyclists?

According to latest GLPOR survey 40 % of Britons strongly support changing the law so that speed limits on roads also apply to cyclists, compared to 5 % who strongly oppose, 9 % tend to oppose, 32 % tend to support and 14 % don’t know.
